Captain Toebeans' Seattle Trip: A Cat's Tale
Greetings mortals!
Hi! I'm back and throwing another poem right at you.
A few months ago, my pawrents took me on a long road trip. It’s our annual family adventure. At least, that’s what they like to call it. I think it’s stupid and they should just stay home with me.
So, where did we go this time? Seattle! Hmm, it has the word sea in it. Oh, Bastet, that means there’s water! Why would you do that to me?! But at least I can finally tap into my alter ego of being Captain Toebeans! Also, you can now say that I’m a globetrotting kitty.
Oh, what a trip to Seattle I had,
First time crossing into the US.
Despite my mom's worrying,
It was a success!
Chuckanut Drive was so pretty,
Tall trees waiting to be climbed on.I
climbed on Daddy’s shoulder to get a better look,
I want to go lay on the lawn.
An Airbnb like a pirate ship,
I became Captain Toebeans, ruler of the night.
Exploring every nook and cranny,I
see a spider, face my might!
My parents wanted to walk me outside,
But the rain, oh, the endless rain.
I’m happy being inside this ship anyway,
All the gain, no pain.
Family road trips are fun, an occasional delight,
But home is where my heart lies.
A cozy bed and familiar scents,
Surrounded by my kitty supplies.
Weekly Fun Fact
Since we’re on the topic of seas, pirates and ships. Do you know about the tuxedo kitty that survived the sinking of three naval vessels in WWII?
The Bismarck, HMS Cossack and HMS Ark Royal, all couldn’t take the power of the seas, but Sam? Sam could. He went on to retire after the third sinking and passed away peacefully in 1955.
This is the story of Sam, Unsinkable Sam.
Bet you hoomans can’t do that!
In case you’re wondering where I stayed, here’s the link to Captain’s Quarters!
And on that note, I’m calling it a day and going back to take my beauty sleep. BYYYEEE!!
