Mosquito Mayhem: A Poem

Time for your weekly dose of Nezuko!

I’m back with another misadventure with my pawrents. This time, involving the lovely mosquitoes.

Time to log off, tell your boss to go suck a raisin, kick back with that disgusting drink you call beer and enjoy my poem! (Raisins are toxic to cats)

Into the backpack I go,

For a nice short walk,

Can’t wait to get to the grassy field,

So I could stalk.

Past the streets and houses,T

o the grassy field, I go,

That’s when I saw it,

A cloud of mosquitoes.

A dark, buzzing cloud behind us.

I yelled with all my might.

But they kept on walking,

And saying, “Oh, It’s alright.”

Unaware of the dangers behind,

They stopped to let me out.

I crawled out, took a peek,

And started to shout.

“Look back, you fools!”

But it was too late,

The cloud surrounded them,

They met their fate.

Surrounded by the bloodsuckers,

I hopped back into the pack.

They zipped me up without a fight,

And made for a run back.

Well, don’t say I didn’t warn them,

Now they’ll listen, loud and clear.

Next time I start yelling,

They know what to fear.

Weekly Fun Fact

Why do we play with our food?

We actually don’t. We know your tiny hooman brain can’t comprehend this and say we’re cruel. We’re not. It’s in our blood to hunt.

It’s also normal for us to “tire” out our prey so they don’t fight back when we go in for the final kill.

It also depends if we’re an indoor or outdoor cat.

Our outdoor friends will kill for food. No playing around.

If you’re like me and are an indoor cat, we won’t eat what we kill. So it just looks like we’re doing it for fun, but that doesn’t mean it’s cruel. It’s just instinct. But because we don’t need to hunt to live, we kill it and leave it there. If you feel bad, go ahead and eat it! 😈

Nezuko, out.
